Laboratory
Laboratory for magnetic anisotropy was established through HRZZ-UIP-2014-09-9775 grant. Laboratory is situated in the basement of the second wing of Institute of Physics in room 029.
Within the project IMAQSS we completed the high field torque setup (magnetic field up to 5T) which complements the existing low-field setup (0.8T). For high-field setup we used superconducting magnet by Cryogenic Ltd. which was already at our disposal and accompanying liquid helium cryostat for temperature control of the sample, also by Cryogenic Ltd. Within project IMAQSS we developed new torque detector and established temperature control of the sample using Lakeshore 336 temperature controler. The experiment is controlled through computer program we wrote using VB.net language.
For our research we have currently at our disposal following dc magnetic techniques:
- Faraday susceptometer with temperature range from 2 – 330K and magnetic field up tp 0.9T (room 028).
- Torque magnetometer with temperature range from 2 – 330K and magnetic field up to 0.8T (room 029).
- Torque magnetometer with temperature range from 2 – 300K and magnetic field up to 5T (room 029).
